Reason for God

Doubt Nights

Skeptics Welcome
Our name, Seven Mile Road, comes from a story in Luke's Gospel where Jesus walks with two skeptics from Jerusalem to the village of Emmaus. What strikes you is that Jesus does not reject these men for their doubts. He doesn't dismiss them because of their questions. Instead He engages them. He challenges them. He creates an environment in which they can seek truth without being condemned. These men feel comfortable enough around Jesus that they walk with Him, and talk with Him, and even insist that He stick around so that they could keep the conversation going. We're shooting for Seven Mile Road to have that same feel. Doubt Night is one attempt to live that out.

A Safe Place To Talk About Life's Big Questions
Religion evokes strong emotions, feelings, and convictions. Yet people who disagree about faith rarely have an opportunity to engage one another in respectful dialogue about their beliefs and doubts.  In light of this, we are hosting a series of informal discussions and using the New York Times Bestseller, The Reason for God, to frame our conversations.

Please plan on joining us and even personally inviting some of your friends.  We expect to have a wide diversity of views represented and look forward to a thoughtful conversation about challenging questions.  You are welcome to read the book or simply make use of a synopsis of each chapter that we will provide in order to participate in the discussion. Check our calendar for upcoming dates and topics.
